Het Corus Chess Tournament is een jaarlijks terugkerend internationaal schaaktoernooi in Wijk aan Zee. Het Corus Chess Tournament is een van de beroemdste schaaktoernooien ter wereld. Nationale en internationale grootmeesters gaan de strijd met elkaar aan in drie hoofdtoernooien. Daarnaast spelen speciale groepen in tientallen aparte toernooien tegen elkaar. Zoals de regionale schooljeugd, parlementariers of klanten van hoofdsponsor Corus.

Location
The Corus Chess Tournament 2006 will be held from 13-29 January 2006 in Wijk aan Zee. The tournament venue is the De Moriaan Community Centre (Dorpsduinen 4, 1949 EG Wijk aan Zee) and the nearby bar de Zon. Commentators on the games in Grandmaster groups A, B and C will be based in the Corus Chess Pavilion, on the Village Green in Wijk aan Zee (one minute walking from De Moriaan, you will pass the Pavilion on your left side when driving into Wijk aan Zee).
